The Board of Supervisors of Tilden Township, Berks County, Pennsylvania, will consider and vote upon the adoption of an ordinance at its regular meeting on Wednesday, October 14, 2020, commencing at 7:00 p.m., at the Tilden Township Municipal Building, 874 Hex Highway, Hamburg, Pennsylvania 19526. A summary of the proposed ordinance is as follows:
AN ORDINANCE OF TILDEN TOWNSHIP, BERKS COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA, AMENDING AND RESTATING IN ITS ENTIRETY CHAPTER XXVI ENTITLED “STREETS, SIDEWALKS, DRIVEWAYS AND CURBS,” ESTABLISHING REGULATIONS REGARDING STREET EXCAVATIONS AND DRIVEWAYS, INCLUDING: PURPOSE, DEFINITIONS AND INTERPRETATIONS, REQUIREMENTS FOR APPLICATIONS FOR PERMITS, APPLICATION AND PERMIT FEES, RESTRICTING ISSUANCE OF PERMITS, PERMIT APPROVAL / DISAPPROVAL PROCEDURES, RESPONSIBILITY TO CONTACT UTILITIES, EMERGENCY OPENINGS, REQUIREMENTS REGARDING EXCAVATION & SURFACE RESTORATION, TUNNELING, DRIVEWAY CONSTRUCTION, CORRECTIONS OF DEFECTS IN WORK, BONDS, AND PAYMENT FOR WORK DONE BY TILDEN TOWNSHIP, PENALTIES FOR VIOLATION, AND REPEALING INCONSISTENT ORDINANCES.

Environmental Advisory Council (EAC) – volunteer – (4 openings)
Emergency Management Coordinator – volunteer – certification required
(This position is not required to be a resident of Tilden Township)
Anyone interested in any of these positions, please contact the Township office @ 610-562-7410. Applications need to be submitted to the Township Manager by October 9, 2020. They can be dropped off Monday-Friday, between the hours of 9 am and 3 pm.

The township has received questions regarding whether the township building would be open as a polling place for the 2020 GENERAL PRIMARY election on 06/02/2020.
The answer is YES.
The Berks County Office of Election Services will be releasing information regarding social distancing and masks when voting.
If you want to vote in person, your polling place will be OPEN on 06/02/2020.
