Snow Emergency Declared

Due to the pending snow storm forecast for Wednesday, December 16th, 2020, Tilden Township has declared a snow emergency and is requesting persons with vehicles parked on West State Street, Lincoln Drive, Ruth Street, Kathryn Street, Marion Street, Yoder Street, Carl Street, Hazel Street, Clayton Avenue, Moonlight Drive, Sunrise Drive, Rainbow Drive or Sunset Drive, please remove all your vehicles from the street by 11am Wednesday morning December 16th and keep them off the road until further notice is given.

This enables our road crew to more efficiently remove snow from the roadway in certain areas.

Community Survey

The Northern Berks municipalities (Hamburg Borough, Perry Township, Shoemakersville Borough, Tilden Township, Upper Bern Township, Upper Tulpehocken Township, and Windsor Township) have started the process of updating their existing regional joint comprehensive plan of 2005.

 

The planning committee in conjunction with the Hamburg Area School District and the Berks County Planning Commission would like to solicit input from you regarding what you view as important for the region moving forward into the future. Your feedback is important!

2021 OPEN POSITIONS

 

NOTICE TO RESIDENTS OF TILDEN TOWNSHIP

 

Tilden Township has the following positions available for 2021.

 

Planning Commission member – volunteer

 

Zoning Hearing Board member – $50.00 per Hearing

 

Environmental Advisory Council (EAC) – volunteer – (4 openings)

 

Emergency Management Coordinator – volunteer – certification required

    (This position is not required to be a resident of Tilden Township)

 

 

Anyone interested in any of these positions, please contact the Township office @ 610-562-7410. Applications need to be submitted to the Township Manager by October 9, 2020. They can be dropped off Monday-Friday, between the hours of 9 am and 3 pm.

 

New Start Grant Program information for small businesses

The township just received this information this morning. The deadline for submittal is tomorrow.

 

Berks County Small Business Owners – applications are now being accepted for The Berks County Small Business New Start Grant Program!

 

This new funding option was created by the Berks County Commissioners to help local small business owners who have been struggling financially due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The $6 million program will award grants between $10,000 and $50,000 to small business owners based on revenue level.
